Instructions for Those Writing References

Thanks for helping the World Press Institute with our fellowship candidate selection process. To make this easy for you, we have set up a brief online form for you to submit your reference. Here's how to complete the reference form:

1) (If you haven't already done so) Log in, using the username and password you set up with your account.

2) On the "My Participation" page, we attempt to match you with any submissions where an applicant has listed you as their reference. These are listed in the "References Currently Requested of Me" section of the page. This page will not appear unless you are logged in. If we were not able to match you, please do not give up. We have provided instructions under the link that reads : "I've been asked to provide a reference. I have an Applicant's Submission ID, but it isn't shown here."

3) Enter the "Submission Number" that was sent to you by email from "apply@worldpressinstitute.org" in the form. Complete the rest of the reference form to the best of your ability.

4) Be sure to click the "Save" button at the bottom of the form. If you do not do this, your reference will not be completed and saved for review.

5) If you need to revise your reference at a later date, log in using your username and password. You will note a link to the reference form on the "My Participation" page AFTER you log in. Click the "edit" link to make your revisions after logging in. (You will receive a confirmation by Email when you save your reference form, assuming the Email address you used when you first signed up is accessible.)

You must be logged in to participate in the WPI application process.
